Saalachtaler High Trail
Experience the unique panorama of the Saalachtal valley on the 16.9 km long trail through a natural high moor. The Saalachtaler Höhenweg runs from Saalbach via Spielbergtörl to Saalfelden.
The starting point is at the mountain station of the Kohlmaisbahn, which you can use free of charge with your Joker Card. Sporty hikers can of course also start in the valley. From the mountain station you walk through the diverse mountain world, always through forests and over mountain ridges to the Biberg.
On the way, enjoy the magnificent view of the Hohe Tauern with the Glockner and Venediger, in the south of the Limestone Alps with the Steinernes Meer, Watzmann, Hochkönig, Loferer and the Leoganger Steinberge in the north.

The unique natural paradise at the end of the valley
It is less than 5 minutes' drive from the Hotel Residenz Hochalm to the valley head car park in the district of Langau. The high 2095m Tristkogel towers above the end of the valley with wonderfully green mountain meadows and small lakes. A dream for every mountain hiker. But there are also some fun activities for outdoor activity fans at the end of the valley: For example, the high ropes park and the Golden Gate of the Alps including the Baumzipfelweg.
